Summary/Abstract: The article presents information on the ways of understanding the term non-governmental organization and data on non-governmental organizations registered in the city of Krakow. The major thematic areas, undertaken by these organizations. They analyzed the forms of cooperation of NGOs and municipal authorities on the basis of prepared Multiannual Programme Cooperation Municipality of Krakow and NGOs for the years 2015–2018.
