Summary/Abstract: The paper is devoted to analyse the popular form of modern literature concerning language – linguistic journalism. In the article the history and genesis of this genre are described, a typology of the genre is researched, the limits and aim of such texts are explored. Special attention is paid to the dictionary as a form of linguistic journalism
