Summary/Abstract: This year it is eight years since the archaeological find of a unique artefact – a medieval signet ring engraved with the owner’s Hebrew name. As news of this find was only published in Czech journals, it did not elicit a great response in professional circles.2 Yet this is a quite remarkable item, especially in terms of its significance as a tangible evidence of the early history of the local Jewish population and of long-distance trade. It is therefore worth recalling again here.
