Human spiritual development in the light of Saint John of the Cross’ views

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the mystical works of Saint John of the Cross. Based on those works, the author presents the soul’s spiritual way to God , the way on which all the possible objects of cognition are renounced and rejected and where the soul strives after the denial of subject-object opposition, the denial of everything that is not the final source of knowledge. Eventually, at the end of the journey, God becomes the only subject of cognition, and the soul strives after the unification with God.
