Summary/Abstract: Four seasons of documentation have supplied pertinent data to indicate that the Main Sanctuary of Amun-Re in the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari was perceived from a theological perspective as a cult place for the local form of Foremost of Dsr-Dsrw and for the royal worship of Hatshepsut connected with it. The latter aspect was of sufficient significance to warrant twice a far-going modification of the decoration of the tympanum of the east wall of the Bark Hall, influencing the way the Inner Sanctuary was illuminated.
