Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the discussion is to present the changes that took place after 1989 in the retail sector in the franchise system in Poland. The definitions and conditions of the franchise operation are presented. Data from the latest internal trade and franchise reports was used. In the period under review, there was a significant development of franchise systems in Poland. The number of networks increased on average about 20% per year. It is estimated that the Polish franchise market has already reached maturity, as evidenced by the continued dominance of the national network over the foreign. This article is of a research nature.
