Fishing in the Eastern Black Sea Region

Summary/Abstract: Fishing industry in Turkey has a great importance because of the country’s geographical location and efficient natural resources. Within the regional seas in Turkey, the Eastern Black Sea Region come first at the amount of production and a large part of the population live on fishing. This study is intended to inform about the current situation about fishing in Turkey and in the Eastern Black Sea Region. For this, information about hunting of aquatic products, fishing boats, shelters, employment figures and etc. are given. Besides resources obtained from the sea, the information about aquaculture is located in the next. And in the final section, an overall assessment about fishing in the Eastern Black Sea Region is located in the conclusion.
