Summary/Abstract: All kinds of human activity is accompanied by the risk, but the insurance business stands out from the rest of the fact that its subject is a risk itself. The paper presents an alternative formulation of the ruin problem. This approach does not require an advanced stochastic analysis, but the intensive use of the theory of generalized functions.
