Summary/Abstract: The issue of the article concerns the analysis of current research trends related to tourism and social media.Based on the results of a critical analysis of the literature, an outline of the directions of future scientific researchin this area was also shown. These studies of interdisciplinary nature would include the issues from the field ofsocial and economic sciences with particular emphasis on crowdsourcing and the possibilities of its implementationin the social media for the development of tourism in the region.
