Summary/Abstract: The paper, devoted to Digital Heritage and a shared future for the cultural institutions, tries to focus on to immense potential of intangible contents posted on the web and its use connected to the physicality of matter. The curators of the past should not perceive physicality and intangibility as mutually exclusive in order to organize the whole system of memory-related things. This would open a whole raft of opportunities based on the semantic relations that can emerge from the web, giving more understandable sense to the storytelling, in line with the learning methods in the 21st century. Contents previously not communicating with one another, meet to give shape to new products and services. New professional profiles emerge such as the 'digital content curator' or the 'cultural audience developer', making widely available the meanings of historical objects and their contexts. No need to be technology enthusiasts, but Archives, Libraries and Museums, together, could be still protagonist in the cultural process. Particularly the professionals in the cultural heritage could contribute to give more reliability to the digital word.
