Summary/Abstract: Mohammad Farid Wajdi is one of the most important Egyptian intellectuals of the 20th century. His works which he wrote in the style of maqamat are important in Arabic Literature. The book titled as al-Wajdiyyat: Maqamat Mohammad Farid Wajdi that contains his eighteen maqamat draws attention to some ethical and social issues that exist in author’s own time. In this article, the ethical and social issues mentioned in Vejdi’s eighteen maqamat have been examined. Importance of ethic, study and education, ethical nature of human, development capacity of human, social responsibility of scholars, characteristics of the Moral City, moderation in subjection of desires and whims, a rational life, gamins, protection of nature, resolution of conflict between old and new, civilization, woman and the value of time are some of these issues handled in these maqamat.
