Summary/Abstract: Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk speaks of her work on the play Popiełuszko, recently staged at the Polski Theater in Bydgoszcz. The playwright says that in the figure of the priest she was chiefly interested in his drive for knowledge and freedom, which meant he could give sermons that strengthened the moral fibers of thousands of people. Sikorska-Miszczuk feels that this inborn sense of freedom was the main motor behind his actions and perseverance. She was also interested in the fact that Popiełuszko had both the Communist Party and the Church against him.
