Some Aspects of Enterprises’ Innovative Activities on the Example of Provinces of Eastern Poland

Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to analyse innovative activities of enterprises in the provinces of Eastern Poland based on the data of the CSO, the Bank of Local Data and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP). Enterprises’ innovativeness is one of important factors of national economies’ competitive advantage. The Polish economy is in the group of the least innovative in the EU. Still more unfavourably is the situation of provinces of Eastern Poland, both in terms of level of entrepreneurship and enterprises’ innovative activities. Therefore, it is necessary to undertake the measures aimed at stimulation of economic initiative, innovative activity, increasing investments in R&D as well as at attracting external capital.
