The Directions of the Service Development of European Seaports Specializing in Handling Perishable Goods

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issues of the service development in seaports specializingin handling perishable goods. The basic service range of seaports has been presented, andthe classification of services provided for perishable goods in the territory of ports’ containerterminals and refrigerated warehouses proposed. The challenges and main directionsof the service development in the European seaports reloading perishable goodshave been analyzed, too. The conducted research has showed that, in recent years, anintensive development in the group of logistics services has been observed and portsemphasize the possibility of comprehensive servicing of perishable goods.
