Summary/Abstract: This essay deals with life and activities of Khubrat Khan, who established the Magna Bulgaria in the 7th century in the north of the Black Sea and the Caucasus. Khubrat, who unified Ogurs/Bulgars after the death of Organa, his uncle, separated from the Kök Turks and founded his independent state. He also started a new Bulgar ethnogenesis by unifying all Ogurs, thus by having them called Bulgar altogether.
