Summary/Abstract: This article is of the research nature and its basic objective is to estimate and to analyse and assess the spatial differentiation of human capital in the rural and urban areas in Poland. There was applied the synthetic index of resources of human capital on which basis there was made the hierarchy of provinces (voivodeships), also determining the degree of differentiation of areas in terms of human capital resources. The research findings indicate the strong spatial differentiation both of rural areas and urban ones. Moreover, there was observed a bigger distance between the units of the provinces in question for urban areas than for rural ones. The analysis of human capital resources was carried out in terms of spatial profile making use of the data from the CSO’s Local Data Bank, the Polish census as well as literature studies.
