Summary/Abstract: The end of the Cold War changed positions of the Balkans and Russia vis-à-vis Russia, which never gave up its historical idea, but lost much of its influence in the Balkans after the dismemberment of the USSR, still tries to continue its historical mission in international area regarding the peninsula. For this purpose, Russia tended to set up political, economical, technological and cultural cooperation with Balkan states.
