Summary/Abstract: On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, Germany’s Chancellor Gerhard Schröder delivered a memorable speech in Warsaw. Ten years after the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Roman Herzog, asked Poles to forgive Germans the harms done by Germans to Poles during World War II, the symbolic meaning of the problem has narrowed down for Chancellor Schröder.
