Summary/Abstract: The Ukraine gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union. After the Ukrainan media to create it's own printed press and radio and television companies Most of the local/regional newpapers were transformed from soviet-style publications into new western-style publications.. They were re-reggistered; changing their names and sometimes editors. But the press freedom was still problem.
