Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to discuss the selected aspects of food safety in Polish households. In their article, the authors presented secondary and primary (surveys) research findings. Despite the still considerable spending on food in Polish households in total spending, on the one hand, in some households there still takes place lack of the opportunity to meet needs in foods, while, on the other hand, unreasonable behaviours of consumers when shopping for food products and managing them. This indicates the necessity to carry out social campaigns among Polish consumers concerning education in the area of rational food management in order to improve food security. The article is of the research nature.
