Summary/Abstract: The Karapapaks, a Turkish people, used to nomadize in the Caucasus and Eastern Anatolia. There are no satisfactory studies on their origins and formation. They were subject to a quarrel of influence between Turkey and Iran in the 19. century. Today's Karapapaks of Kars, Ağrı and Erzurum regions migrated there after their Caucasian lands were invaded by the Russians.
