Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to present an architectural drawing as an important factor in the process of architectural design. Drawn architecture determines the grammatical syntax of building actual architecture. From this point of view, the interpretations of architecture as an archive of drawings made by their creators seem to have cognitive and research properties that theorise the design practice. Reading an architect’s archive comprising sketches and images attributed to specific projects defines the duality of architecture. Architecture is built and drawn, it is subject to autonomous laws, and the multitude of connections and interactions that occur among them allows them to be treated as an entirety. This statement is an encouragement to study the structure of architecture’s form as regards science, art, theory and practice.
