Summary/Abstract: The study aims at acknowledging the way in which traditionally marginal cultures wedge in the mainstream body through adopting and incorporating the trends that facilitate such a shift. The selection of texts belonging to the corpus of Scottish contemporary fiction attempts to demonstrate the validity of such a change through their readiness to experiment and absorption of novelty.
