Impact of Financial Situation of Healthcare Entities on Financial Stability of Local Government Units

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the scale of debt of public health services,various attempts to reform healthcare entities that are not medical enterprises (budgetaryunits, independent public healthcare establishments) as well as threats to the financialstability of local government units that are a consequence of activities of dependenthealthcare entities. The paper compares 3 types of healthcare entities that are dependenton local governments: entities that are not enterprises (budgetary units and independentpublic healthcare establishments) as well as limited companies. Comparative analysiswas focused on risks to local government units from taking over debts of dependentmedical entities.
