Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the history of the Crimean khanate in Austrian and Scandinavian sources. They are characterized by the presentations of individual episodes in the history of the Crimean Khanate. Among the Austrian sources, the greatest value and the most information provide Sigismund Herberstein’s ’’Notes about Muscovy’’ and the description of the travel of Nikolaus Ernst Kleeman. Works of Jiri David and Daniel Krman are important with respect to the ’’Crimean campaigns’’of Golitsyn and relations between the Swedish King Karl XII and Devlet-Giray II. Brief and fragmentary are the notices provided by Eric Lyasota and Daniel, Prince of Bukhov, about some particular campaigns of the Crimean khans. Writings of ethnic Croat Yuri Krizhanich have a special place among the Austrian sources. He proposed a plan of conquest of the Crimean Khanate. Although Alexey Mikhaylovich Romanov did not listen to his advice, later Russian rulers have implemented a number of Krizhanich’s proposals. Austrian diplomatic documents contain information about diplomatic contacts of the Austrian Empire with the Crimean Khanate. Details of account of Julius Just, Danish ambassador in Russia, are important for the research of Prut campaigns of Peter I Great and the Russian-Turkish war of 1710 – 1713. Danish royal archives shed some light on the relations between the Crimean Khanate and Denmark. Swedish sources also reveal some aspects of the history of the Crimean Khanate. Chronicler Peter Petreus borrowed the description of the reign of Mekhmet-Gheray I from Sigismund Herberstein, but his original notices are short and uninformative. Christopher von Cohen recorded the actions of the Ukrainians and Russians in 1698 on the Lower Dnieper against the Crimean Tatars and the Turks. Swedish royal archives also contain interesting information about the relations between Sweden and the Crimean Khanate.
