Summary/Abstract: The cultural communication attempted by this film in the context of science fiction as part of popular culture is analyzed. The message of the film pertains to the inexistence of a solution to the instability of the relationship between the normative order and human behaviour – which is the description of human social existence in the film, and is interpreted as a pessimist view of this existence. The message is arrived at through a string of binary oppositions.
