Probable scenarios for Europe

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present and analyze probable scenarios for future directions of European development. The useful aspects of modern forecasting and the barriers and obstacles it encounters are discussed. The main assumptions of the proposed scenarios are presented: the chronological range, the universality and sustainability of the state, the demographic processes and the sustainability of cultural systems, which have been analyzed in detail. Against this background, the strengths and weaknesses of Europe are shown. As a result, two scenarios – optimistic and pessimistic – are presented and analyzed, together with probability of their realization.
