Summary/Abstract: Aim: The aims of this study are to determine the effect of organizational virtuousness on employee empowerment and authentic leaderships’ mediating role on this effect. Method: The population of the study was 3728 health employee who working in two public hospitals operating in the Sakarya. The sample of the study consisted of 460 health employees who were chosen by the simple random sampling methods. Data was collected with a questionnaire form which were composed Organizational Virtuousness Scale (Cameron et al., 2004), Employee Empowerment Scale (Spreitzer, 1995), Authentic Leadership Scale (Walumbwa et al., 2008) and socio-demographical characteristics of health employees. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, correlation analysis and PROCESS macro regression analysis. Findings: According to the findings of study, the participants’ considered the organizational virtuousness (3.210.72) and authentic leadership (3.,440.95) in medium level, while the level of employee empowerment was found to be high (3.850.71). There are positive and middle level relationships between organizational virtuousness, authentic leadership and employee empowerment. Organizational virtuousness and authentic leadership positively influence the employee empowerment. Moreover, authentic leadership has a mediating role in organizational virtuousness’ effect on employee empowerment. Results: As a result, a virtuous organization and authentic leaders had empowered employees. Empowered employees may be key to organizational success.
