Summary/Abstract: More than two weeks Vukovar and its thirty-five thousand inhabitants await mercy and forgiveness from Zagreb for something they are not even guilty of. Not one city in Croatia has given more for the independence of Croatia, not one city has defended a bigger crust of Croatian bread with lesser military force, and yet it seems that this is not enough. At this moment more than seventy tanks are swarming the streets of Vukovar. And Vukovar is bleeding together with its heroism, with Blago Zadro, a man personally decorated by Mr. Tuđman. All those who the Commander of the Croatian Army for Vukovar didn’t want to name, but Mr. Tuđman asked him to do it are dying as well.
