Summary/Abstract: In this article, we present the context of the feminist movement in Quebec in the 60s and 80s and the changes that show an evolution in Quebec’s society and the end of certain interdictions. Secondly, we look at the transformations of the image of women in the novel Les Nuits de l’Underground (1978), by Marie-Claire Blais, one of the most important writers of contemporary Quebec literature. The novel examines the transformations concerning the social status of women, the relationship with men, the maternal role and their relationship with children.
