Summary/Abstract: In the summer of 1941, after a year of Soviet occupation, Bessarabia and the North of Bukovina were liberated by the Romanian-German troops, and the Romanian authorities returned into these territories. In Bessarabia, the Special Information Service of Romania was represented by Information Centre no. 2 Chişinău which, through its territorial structures (sub-centres and residencies), carried out informative and counter-informative missions - for knowing the situation in the territory and fighting back the actions hostile to the Romanian State. The results of these activities were reported to the decision-making factor by means of periodic “informative notes” which reveal to us interesting data regarding the political, social-economic and cultural life of Bessarabia in the years 1941- 1944.
