Private houses account for almost one third of the entire tourist accommodation capacity, and for close on one fourth of the total number of tourist overnight stays. Of 292,723 beds in all kinds of accommodation, 61,108 beds, or 21 per cent, were provided by catering enterprises; 149,052, or 49 per cent, by rest centers, spas and curative resorts; and 87,944, or 30 per cent, in private houses. Private homes account today for over 20 per cent of the total number of overnight stays by foreign tourists and for over 22 per cent by Yugoslav visitors.
