Summary/Abstract: In recent year Poland must be numbered among those countries with which Yugoslavia has well developed economic relations. Before the war, because of the coinciding structure of their national economies, commodity exchange between the two countries was insignificant. In the period from 1936 to 1939, Poland’s share in Yugoslav foreign trade was one per cent while Yugoslavia’s proportion in Polish commodity exchange was under one per cent. Immediately after the war, economic co-operation between the two countries was established on a very broad basis. The first Trade and Payments Agreement was signed on January 18,1946, while the Treaty on Economic Co-operation and Commodity Exchange and the Agreement on Five-year Commodity Exchange were signed on May 24, 1947.
