Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of research disclosing the administration of iluva sanctuary in the light of the Code of Canon Law. According to the norms of the Code of Canon Law, the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and the Chapel of the Revelation of iluva have the sanctuary status of united sacral space. During festivals and thanks to the efforts of communities and societies, worship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with the purpose of sanctification of God’s nation, is expressed in the sanctuary where the faithful can get greater ways of salvation. Granting and earning of the Šilinių feast is administrated within the norms of the Code of Canon Law. Today Šiluva is not only a spiritual but also a cultural and educational centre administrated according to the norms of the Church’s Code of Law. Provided data shows that iluva sanctuary is a sacred place. The results of research validate the hypothesis, posed at the beginning of the research, that iluva sanctuary (church, miraculous picture of the Mother of God with child Jesus, chapel of the Revelation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Lourdes) is administrated in the light of the Code of Canon Law.
