Summary/Abstract: By virtue of their work criminal police face the most monstrous and the most heinous forms of human depravity, which makes them pivotal to fighting crime. Through their activities they materialise the protective function of criminal law, and consequently the form of criminal legal response to criminal behaviour gains a fuller shape. Criminal police are expected to be sufficiently brave, persistent, dedicated to their work and principled in law enforcement. Meeting these expectations requires certain preconditions which are primarily embodied in a systemic approach to creating training for criminal police officers who will develop, upgrade and improve their personal and professional potential for this important and responsible job through the process of professional training as a kind of anteroom to a successful career.
