Summary/Abstract: Enterprise welfare assets include amenities intended for the satisfaction of the housing, social, cultural and sports needs of enterprise staff, and of liquid assets (money) earmarked for such purposes. Enterprise welfare assets play an important role in the improvement of employees’ conditions of work. They ensure workers better housing, facilities for rest and recreation, day-nurseries and other child-care institutions, staff restaurants, facilities for further training, etc. Enterprise welfare assets are not identical with enterprise welfare funds. The funds include only assets which an enterprise buys with money from its own resources (allocations from income distribution) or receives without reimbursment from other organizations. Welfare assets can also be procured in some other way, primarily through credits, and in this case they do not make part of the welfare funds. In view of this, this article is not confined to welfare funds alone, but covers enterprise welfare assets as a whole.
