Summary/Abstract: Rapid economic development in Yugoslavia has made it necessary to report and analyze statistically the basic factors influencing economic growth, one of which is the level of technical progress. Because of this the Federal Statistical Office conducted, in 1967, a special study of available data for 1956 — 1967 with a view to getting an insight into the level and tempo of technical and technological progress made in that period. At the same time, new statistical investigations were started in order to clarify some relevant questions for which no adequate statistical information was available until then.
