Summary/Abstract: The Economic Reform launched in 1965 introduced substantial changes in price relations and laid foundations for a long-term price policy. These changes were one of the essential preconditions for adjusting relationships in primary distribution in order to ensure a more balanced development of economic activities and resolve the various structural problems accumulated over years. The changes were also necessary to make possible the further development of the system of self-management, under which enterprises should become the principal factors responsible for the expansion of the productive forces of society and to secure the national economy a greater share in international commerce.
