Summary/Abstract: Economic activity, expressed globally and by individual stages (formation, distribution, redistribution, exchange, and final use of the social product of the country) recorded in 1969 sizeable gains over preceding years. Thus in relation to 1968 and 1966, industrial output increased in 1969 by 11 and 18 per cent, respectively, and agricultural output by 10 and 15 per cent; the volume of retail trade (in constant prices) by 11 and 32 per cent; employment by 4 per cent (in relation to both years); labor productivity in industry by 7 and 16 per cent; social product by 11 and 17 per cent; national income by 10 and 15 per cent; personal consumption by about 10 and 25 per cent; government expenditure3 by 7 and 20 per cent; gross investment in fixed assets by 10 and 19 per cent (all in constant 1966 prices). All these figures and many other associated data indicate a considerable increase in real terms in production and in all forms of final consumption, especially personal.
