Emerging and functioning of agricultural producer groups and social capital

Summary/Abstract: The paper refers to a discussion of factors stimulating or limiting the process of establishment and development of agricultural producer groups in Poland. The role of social capital in this context is the main focus of attention. Basic links and relations that can occur between different kinds of social capital and producer groups were identified. Moreover, a brief review of literature on the social capital on rural areas in Poland was presented. Prezentowany tekst wpisuje się w dyskusję poświęconą czynnikom, które mogą stymulować bądź hamować proces powstawania i rozwoju grup producentów rolnych w Polsce. Główna uwaga poświęcona jest roli, jaką może w tym kontekście odgrywać kapitał społeczny. W artykule wskazujemy na potencjalne powiązania i zależności, które mogą zachodzić między różnymi formami kapitału społecznego oraz grupami producentów, jak również dokonujemy krótkiego podsumowania istniejących prac poświęconych zasobom kapitału społecznego na polskiej wsi.
