Summary/Abstract: The salient features of the general development of the electrical engineering industry in the period 19631 — 1971 were a very fast rise in 1963 and 1964 and a much slower growth after the beginning of the Economic Reform. In the first two years of that period this branch of industry grew at an average annual rate of 28.0 per cent, as compared with 9.9 per cent in 1965—1971, which was the average growth rate for industry as a whole. In individual years of that period production increased over the preceding year by 3 to 9 per cent, with the exception of 1969 (21 per cent)1 2 and 1971 (14 per cent). The proportion of the electrical engineering industry in the gross revenue of industry as a whole amounted in 1963 to 6.1 per cent and in 1971 to 7.1 per cent. In 1971, this branch of industry contributed 6.7 per cent of the social product and 7.11 per cent of the net income generated by industry as a whole.
