Summary/Abstract: A price formation system is essential to any economy. The price level and price relations exercise a decisive influence on the economic position of individual activities, development trends and the economic structure of a country. They are also a factor of economic stability. In a modern economy characterized by large-scale investment in new plant and technology it is impossible to gain an insight into the effects of outlays without an objectivization of conditions under which price relations are formed. Stable prices are, therefore, an essential precondition for any long-term business policy, economic planning and rational investment.
