Summary/Abstract: Constant involvement in the struggle for peace and international cooperation is one of the basic characteristics of Yugoslav foreign policy, as is shown, among others, by many top-level inter-state visits and meetings in 1972.1 In 1972, Yugoslavia was visited by the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Anwar El Sadat, the President of the Central African Republic, Army General Jean Bedel Bokassa, the Emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie I, the President of the Republic of India, Yarahgiri Venkata Giri, the Cambodian Chief of State, Norodom Sihanouk, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, and Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. In the same year, President Josip Broz Tito visited the Soviet Union, the People’s Republic of Poland, and during a visit to the Iron Gates to mark the completion of the Iron Gates Hydro-electrical Power and Navigation System, he met with the President of the State Council of Rumania, Nicolae Ceausescu.
