Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the common state of the human mind and the limits of its functioning. It aims to highlight the rise of Doubt in Modern Ages and its influence on reason and the scale of the settlement of instrumental reason. The question is raised of whether the effective activity of instrumental reason, mostly determined by the doubt, could secure a meaningful tie between human being and surrounding reality?
