Summary/Abstract: The author of the article discusses the metaphysical and expressionistic peculiarities of Adomas Jacovskis’s mature painting, germane to Augustinas Savickas painting. He pays special attention to the Litvak’s painting traditions, motives, the artistic forms of expression and inquires in details Jacovskis’s stage designs. The author highlights the causes of tragic and dramatic tunes in the works of the painter, considers their stylistic transformations during the main stages of the painter’s development, analyzes the systems of his constructs, the peculiarities of his plastic language and the contribution to the Lithuanian Jews (Litvaks) fine arts.
