Summary/Abstract: Gerard Labuda and Aleksander Gieysztor were among the most distin-guished Polish historians. Their impact on the development of Polish Medieval stud-ies has been tremendous as testified by a large group of their disciples who continue the research commenced by the Poznań and Warsaw historians.
