They describe the negative effects associated with imprisonment which may lead to social problems and social exclusion. They address the potential financial problems associated with imprisonment more specifically, not only describing the reasons why imprisonment is costly for the individuals and their families but also pointing out the fact that imprisonment without probation is a financial burden for the state.
