Summary/Abstract: The Euchologion (Molitvelnic) of Balgrad (1689) and the Rector Ioan Zoba from Vinţu de Jos. This study presents an orthodox divine service book, Molitvelnic, which was published at Alba Iulia for the first time in 1698 and re-edited in the same city in 2009 at the initiative of the Archbishop Andrei of Alba Iulia; it is written in Romanian and it was translated for the first time from Slavonic by the rector Ioan Zoba from Vinţu de Jos, a cultivated man of the XVIIth century; even if the text of this church book is purely orthodox, until nowadays the author of the translation (Ioan Zoba) is suspected of filo-Calvinism (because he had good relations with the Calvin Hungarian prince of Transylvania, as well as with representatives of the Calvin-Reformat Church), because he might have worked for the calvinization of the Orthodox Church of this region.
