Theatricality of Video Art at the Festival In Out 2016

Summary/Abstract: The article describes the selected works presented during the festival In Out in 2016. The topic of the festival (theatricality) has inspired many artists to recognise the zone of remediation between the theatre and electronic media. The works of Bogna Burska, Michał Soja, Eva Van Tongeren, Piotr Urbaniec, and Katarzyna Świnarska presented at the festival have interpreted the category of theatricality on many different levels. The article analyses the theatricality of the work from the perspective of reflection of Samuel Weber, Samuel Beckett, Philip Auslander, and other artists and theorists.
