PARTICIPATION OF CITIZENS AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE PLANNING OF DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES

on the example of the municipalities of Priboj and Prijepolje

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the importance of the inclusion of the population, as independent,and in the form of various associations in the development and implementation of strategic projects for the development of local communities. To this end, the survey was conducted in the municipality of Priboj and Prijepolje. The survey results show how concerned the population to participate in the development of their municipalities, as well as the interest of local authorities to include them in the development of local communities.Key words: participation of citizens, non-governmental organizations, strategic planning and projects, development of local communities.
